Seams Radical
Seams Radical is a new fashion collective that will soon be based out of the Loggie's Building. There are a number of local Regina fashion designers who are participating in the planning sessions for this new collective, and some of them will be presenting a small sampling of their works at the Art Grateful event. Designers who are contributing to the Art Grateful show include Dean Renwick (Dean Renwick Design Studio), Deanna Tanner (Oh Ropa Fashion Design), Melanie Monique Rose (Contagious Love), Rheta Lochhead and Katie Gustin (Hazelton Avenue), Danika Wright, Andrea Iya (Hazelnut Designs) and Dianne Pockett. Stay tuned for more news on this exciting collective.
West Port Murders
This punk/folk collective of musicians came together for a raucus St. Patrick's Day gig at O'Hanlon's Pub in April 2008, and then started working on their legend at the equally legendary closing night party for the Manhattan Room. They added another notch to their list of memorable gigs at the Cathedral Arts Festival shortly thereafter. Since then they have made a loud impression on the Regina music scene, mostly because they have two sets of bagpipes in the band. The West Port Murders have taken over the rehearsal room at Loggie's and their musical output seems to be closely associated with the number of empties that are stacked in the broom closet. Comprised of poets, lovers and reprobates, this eight person militia was named after Scotland’s most notorious serial killings. The West Port Murders boil a wide variety of musical influences into a smoldering cauldron of upbeat aggressive folk that will leave the dance floor soaked, gnarled and bruised. The West Port Murders are comprised of:
Cameron Wensel-Guitar/Vocals
Jesse Ethier-Electric/Upright Bass
Andrew Love-Banjo/Guitar/Harmonica/Vocals
Dylan Ludwig-Guitar/Vocals
Lee Boyes-Bagpipes/Tamborine/Vocals
Andy Fisher-Bagpipes/Percussion/Vocals

HardToe
Hardtoe likes to have a good time with music & people. He has had a lot of opportunity to do just this, having been producing music & DJ-ing a wide variety of parties and festivals for the last 10 years. Hardtoe's current love is for mixing a stylistically diverse selection of music into one pumping, throbbing groove. You can expect to hear a blend of funk, hip hop, latin, afro & gypsy music mixed & remixed during a Hardtoe set. One thing is for sure - it's all squarely aimed at the dance floor. For Art Grateful he will be joined by funky guest DJ's SquareSoundRoundBody & B-Radley, who collectively make up the "Funky 3 Society for the Preservation of Hip Movement"
MateMota
The fantastic duo of Ricky and Heather, of Rodriquez Fiestas & Events will be spinning the tunes to end the night. Specializing in Dancehall, Reggaeton and Hip Hop, Heather & Ricky are Regina favorites, and have started hosting their own events. If a party has the stamp of approval of Rodriquez Fiestas & Events, you KNOW it's going to be a good one. And this is going to be a good one.
