Festival Descriptions goes hereWe are planning other events for Regina's downtown but they won't be happening until the summer of 2011!

In the meantime, we invite you to enjoy some of the pictures Ben Checkowy took of the July 1 Canada Day celebration that we helped to produce in 2005.

It was the largest one day festival in Regina's history, with over 65,000 people packed into Wascana Park to hear groups like Great Big Sea, K-OS, The Waltons and Streetheart.

Both sides of Wascana Park were full of activities, from stiltwalkers to fire dancers to pow wow dancers to Ukrainian dancers to FadaDancers.  There was a lot more than dancing, we also had dogs doing tricks, actors re-enacting Saskatchewan's history, musical performances on two different stages, children's activities, food, drink, merchandise and craft vendors, boat races, and to cap it all off, a fireworks display set to music.

This event was produced by Donnelly Events, based out of Vancouver, led by Marian Donnelly's older brother John.  Other Donnelly's were involved in the event, as Neil Donnelly (Ipsco Centre) oversaw the main stage production, brothers Richard and Tom Donnelly were our main drivers/runners/go to people, and our sister Kelly had her two boys and husband on garbage cleanup crew.  Marian's son (Matt), John's son (Jordan) and Tom's son (Patric) were also production assistants.  We all come by it honestly.

Stay tuned to this page, as we will be posting more photos in our photo gallery, and announcing information about our next big event as soon as we can.
